Following rejection of an input tax credit, IndiGo has received a tax demand. The company announced that it has received a "demand of ₹31,240, including tax of ₹21,240 and penalty of ₹10,000 for the FY 2018-19", in a regulatory statement on Wednesday.
The demand was made by the Hyderabad tax department's deputy commissioner.
"The tax officer has denied input tax credit of ₹21,240 availed by the company and raised the... demand," the paperwork stated.
The business added that the demand has no appreciable effect on operations, finances, or other activities.
