Infosys needs to be successful for at least a century, says Narayana Murthy

15 Dec 2022 , 03:25 PM

N.R. Narayana Murthy, the founder of the IT giant Infosys, claimed that the goal of the business is to build an India that is distinct from the model of the 20th century.

Speaking on the occasion of marking the completion of 40 years of Infosys, Murthy said: "When you build an organization, you are building an industry and also a country." We wanted to create unique opportunities for the middle class.

"Climate change, inequality, cost, and technologies that only serve 10% of the population are all problems." "Ours employs a distinct experiment and model," he added.

Murthy said, "We aim to continue operating for 100 years." About 215 years ago, the world's oldest corporation was founded. "Infosys needs to be successful for at least a century."

Speaking about the current difficulties, Murthy said the Infosys leadership will soon face a significant conundrum and a significant question about corporate life.

"They must consider whether their choices will inspire pride in their future generations." "Will I be able to gain the respect of all parties involved in 20 to 30 years?"

When discussing the crisis and Infosys' future, Murthy said, "Your aspiration and tenacity will be put to the test during the difficult times." "You can overcome obstacles if you keep in mind the 350,000 jobs, their families, and children."

"I've never performed any religious rites while working. I practice religion at home. The world of logic exists. I am aware that there is a dimension of faith that is beyond reason. Religion, he explained, provides assurance in some circumstances, which is far more important."
