Maruti Suzuki India's pending orders surge to over 4 lakh units in January

27 Jan 2023 , 10:55 AM

According to a senior company official, Maruti Suzuki India's pending orders have risen to around 4.05 lakh units this month as the inflow of bookings continues to be steady, while newly introduced SUVs Jimny and Fronx have also added to the numbers. Bookings for Jimny have surpassed 11,000 units, while Fronx has around 4,000.

In the third quarter ended December 2022, the company's pending customer orders totaled approximately 3.63 lakh vehicles, with approximately 1.19 lakh orders for newly launched models.

In comparison to January 2022, inquiry is up 28%, and bookings are up 16% in the same month this year, stated the sources.

The company's two newly introduced SUVs, Jimny and Fronx, which were unveiled earlier this month at the Auto Expo 2023, have also accelerated the increase in pending orders, say reports.

Also, the booking rate for Fronx is around 300 per day, totaling close to 4,000 strictly.

Maruti Suzuki India has not confirmed the prices of these two new models, and will hit the market this 'spring'.

Maruti Suzuki sold 15.76 lakh units in 2022, up from 13.64 lakh units in 2021, a nearly 16% increase.

At around 9.56 AM, Maruti Suzuki was trading Rs8,822.50, up by 0.44% against the previous close of Rs8,784.10 on NSE. The counter opened at Rs8,828.45.
