What are the range of products you have for the food, beverages & allied Industries?

The products at Addverb are not specific to industry but provide a range of fixed and flexible software and hardware solutions across industries. The beauty of our solutions does not lie in our products, but our solutioning capabilities. Our wide range of products and robust software can cater to n number of industries, but each based on their unique problem statement.

F&B has challenges relating to sub-optimal storage and quicker order fulfilment due to consumer demands for varieties of SKUs. In this case our dense racking solutions powered by our pallet shuttles and picking solutions are the perfect fit. However, this may also vary on a case-to-case basis, based on which segment of the industry the customer wants assistance in.

For instance, Addverb has helped Hindustan Unilever (HUL), the leader in FMCG Industry, to prepare themselves for the next decade. The company has designed and delivered an innovative automation solution for HUL's Samadhan Warehouse in Chennai. They have deployed Quadron (Carton Shuttle), Rapido (Pick/Put-to-light) and Mobinity (Warehouse Control System) to enable the delivery of orders to 28,000 Kirana stores in the Chennai metropolitan region within 24 hours as per their requirements.

Similarly, the company has recently deployed an innovative end-to-end automation solution in largest green-field food plant of PepsiCo India at Kosi Kalan, Mathura. They have deployed their robots to enable high-density storage and retrieval solutions for the warehouse.

What are the key trends you are observing across segments?

Key trends across segments are:

  • AMRs/ AGVs

Businesses are gradually moving from forklifts and traditional fixed automation solutions like ASRS cranes and shuttles which require huge infrastructure, to either hybrid or modern flexible automation solutions comprising of Autonomous Mobile Robots and Automated Guided Vehicles. These flexible solutions can be scaled easily by adding to the fleet of robots with minimal infrastructure changes.

  • Cloud-based warehousing management systems

Cloud-based WMS provides centralized access to information to maintain complete control over the inventory and increase scalability. WMS also helps in easier integration with other software to make the processes easy and simple.

  • Internet of things

The Internet of Things (IoT) is a network of physically connected devices that are integrated with electronics, sensors, and software. These networked objects communicate with one another over the internet. It is critical in the industry and other contexts for achieving high productivity, efficiency, and a safe working environment. IoT in the supply chain is used to have better communication between the suppliers and the customers and increase the speed of shipment and delivery. This will be further boosted with the introduction of faster 5G network.

What are the recent achievements of your company?

2022 has been a prosperous year for Addverb. Earlier this year, Addverb announced a strategic partnership with Reliance group, a multinational conglomerate and a Fortune Global 500 company, which invested approximately USD 132 Million to accelerate our expansion in Europe, the USA and other geographies.  This year marked the opening of its offices in Germany and the UAE, with the US office inaugurated late last year. The investment is also helping Addverb set-up the largest robotic manufacturing facility in the world at a single location which will offer over 3,000 direct and indirect jobs across India. The company also successfully strengthened its global presence in the US by opening a new office along with a New Research and Development Centre. Also, this year Addverb has been successful in launching its two new products in the market named SortIE, a robotic sortation system, and Medius, a multi-level shuttle.

Additionally, Addverb launched a new software development center in Pune. The first in the industry, Addverb was successful in deploying industrial robots on 5G stack in Jamnagar, Gujarat, the largest refinery plant in the world.

What are your plans for the next 4-5 years?

Addverb is aiming to achieve billion dollars in terms of revenue in the next 5 years. In order to achieve the same, the company is establishing its second manufacturing facility which will be the world’s largest manufacturing facility in the world. The new facility can manufacture up to 60,000 robots in a year.

Currently 80% of our revenue comes from India and 20% from overseas markets, which will change. In the next five years, Addverb intends to broaden its business operations to ensure that 50% of its revenue comes from international markets and 50% from the Indian market.

How is demand shaping up in your key international markets?

The global demand for warehouse management systems and automation solutions is growing due to the rising consumer demand and flourishing e-commerce business. As a result, we are witnessing traction from the FMCG, F&B, E-Commerce industries. Businesses are using intralogistics systems to manage inventory, supply chains, and to meet customer demand for speedier delivery.

As we can see, Addverb has established its global footprint across the globe, especially in the US market. The company is prepared to meet the rising demand. Additionally, Addverb has employed business experts that are knowledgeable about their foreign markets and are highly helpful in ensuring that the solutions are flexible and meet industry standards.

To satisfy the growing demand, Addverb is also building the largest robot production plant in the world, to serve both domestic and international markets from a single location.

Share with us details of funds raised recently. Any plans to raise capital in the next 12 months?

Early in the year, Addverb raised approximately USD 132 million crores from Reliance Retail, the subsidiary of the multinational Fortune Global 500 conglomerate Reliance Industries. As a result, Reliance Retail acquired approximately 55% stake in the company. As of now, there are no plans to raise capital.
