Bharat Electronics inks pact with ADA and DRDO for AMCA programme

22 Feb 2023 , 09:37 AM

Bharat Electronics Ltd (BEL), a Navratna Defense PSU, has signed an MoU with the Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA), DRDO, for the Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) programme.

The agreement was signed on the sidelines of the 'Bandhan' event at Aero India 2023.

The Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft is a multi-role, all-weather fighter aircraft designed for high survivability and stealth.

The MoU aims to leverage BEL and ADA's complementary strengths and capabilities, with both parties cooperating on the design, development, qualification, production, and supply of Internal Weapon Bay Computer and other LRUs for AMCA, as well as providing lifetime product support to the Indian Air Force.

The Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA) was established in Bangalore in 1984 as part of the Department of Defense Research and Development (DR&D), Ministry of Defense (MoD), Government of India, to oversee the development of the country's Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) programme.

The primary goal of the ADA is to design and develop LCA to meet the Indian Air Force's Air Staff Requirements (ASR).

At around 9.30 AM, Bharat Electronics was trading 0.21% higher at Rs95.80, against the previous close of Rs95.55 on NSE. The counter touched an intraday high and low of Rs95.95 and Rs94.80 respectively.
