M Jagannath to be LIC MD

Life Insurance Corporation of India Limited reported that following the notification of the Government of India dated March 13, 2023, the company has appointed M Jagannath, Zonal Manager (In-Charge), South Central Zone, Hyderabad, as Managing Director.

M Jagannath has been appointed in place of Raj Kumar. His appointment shall be effective from the date of his assumption of the office until his superannuation, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Jagannath has assumed the charge from March 13, 2023.

Sri M Jagannath joined the Corporation in 1988 as a Direct Recruit Officer. He has extensive marketing experience, having held numerous important positions and successfully leading large teams.

CA (Inter), PG Diploma in Marketing, International PG Diploma in Life Insurance, General Insurance & Risk Management from the Institute of Insurance and Risk Management (IIRM), Hyderabad, and Associate Member of the Insurance Institute of India, Mumbai are among his academic credentials.

He has held the position of Senior Divisional Manager in charge of the Ernakulam, Dharwad, and Bangalore I Divisions. Between 2009 and 2013, he was the Chief Executive Officer and Manager Director of LIC (Lanka) Ltd. in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

His previous position was as Zonal Manager, South Central Zone, Hyderabad, where he was responsible for three states: Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Karnataka.
