Domestic benchmark indices in a fast rally during afternoon market session after a dull start on Wednesday.
On the sectoral front, except Nifty PSU Bank and Realty, all other sectoral indices are trading in the green with super gains. Nifty Metal index outperforming by rising over 1.3%.
At around 2:00 PM, Sensex was trading at 61,087.79 higher by 432.07 points or 0.71%. Nifty 50 traded at 18,170.85 higher 117.55 points or 0.65%
Top Gainers on Nifty are Tata Steel (+2.4%), Hindalco (+1.9%), L&T (+1.8%) supported by HDFC Bank (+1.7%) and HDFC (+1.6%). Meanwhile, top losers on Nifty are HDFC Life (-1.4%), Tata Motors (-1%), Ultratech Cement (-0.78%), Cipla (-0.72%) and BPCL (-0.6%).
Furthermore, ITC stocks in focus today as the firm will acquire 100% stake of Sproutlife Foods, makers of Yoga Bar. With this deal, which involves an initital investment of Rs175 crore, ITC is hoping to strengthen its presence in the nutrition and health foods space.
