Hindustan unilever (HUL) has appointed Rohit Jawa as the new managing director and CEO of India's largest FMCG Company from 27th June, 2023. He will replace Sanjiv Mehta, who is set to retire from the company after a decade of service.
Rohit (56) is currently the chief of transformation for Unilever in London. He will join as CEO and whole-time director from April 1, 2023, as per the company reports. He will also takeover as President of Unilever South Asia and join the Unilever Leadership Executive (ULE).
Last year, Unilever declared that United States, India and China were three of its key growth markets, underlining plans to grow in India amid rising use of the internet in the country and the economy’s expansion.
HUL chairman Nitin Pranjape said, “I am delighted to welcome Rohit back to India. He has a deep understanding of the business landscape particularly in Asia. I am certain that with his astute business acumen, and growth mindset Jawa will take HUL to the next level of performance.”
According to Rohit’s LinkedIn profile, he is a graduate from St. Stephen College and did his MBA from FMS, University of Delhi. He also participated in advanced management program at Harvard Business School.
