Vedanta has announced its fifth interim dividend of Rs 20.50 per equity share for the ongoing fiscal year 2022-23, resulting in a total dividend payout of Rs 7,621 crore.
In a regulatory filing, Vedanta stated “board has granted approval for the fifth interim dividend of Rs 20.50 per equity share for the current fiscal year 2022-23. This dividend equates to 2050% on the face value of Rs 1 per share and will result in a total payout of Rs 7,621 crore.”
Vedanta has fixed April 7 as the record for determining the eligibility of shareholders regarding the announced dividend payment.
The ex-dividend date for Vedanta shares will be set a day or two prior to the record date. On the ex-dividend date, the stock of the company will not include the value of the upcoming dividend payment. This date also determines which shareholders are qualified to receive the dividend payout.
Vedanta has announced four equity dividends during the ongoing financial year, amounting Rs 12.50, Rs 17.50, Rs 19.50, and Rs 31.50, respectively.
At around 10.31 AM, Vedanta is trading 1.26% higher at Rs277.70, against the previous close of Rs274.25 on NSE. The counter opened at Rs277.
