Customers to experience JioMart on Whatsapp: Reliance Jio -; Meta's new strategic alliance

30 Aug 2022 , 01:05 PM

Meta and Reliance Jio Platforms announced the debut of the first-ever end-to-end shopping experience on WhatsApp, allowing customers to purchase from JioMart directly from their WhatsApp chat.

JioMart on WhatsApp, a global first, will allow customers in India, including those who have never shopped online before, to explore JioMart's entire food inventory, add goods to basket, and make the payment to finish the transaction - all without leaving the WhatsApp chat.

The launch is part of Meta and Jio Platforms' strategic collaboration to accelerate India's digital transformation and give individuals and companies of all sizes with new ways to interact and drive economic growth in the country.

In a Facebook post, Meta's Founder and CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, stated, "We are very excited to begin our relationship with JioMart in India. This is our first-ever end-to-end buying experience on WhatsApp; users can now purchase groceries from JioMart while chatting.”

"Our objective is to promote India as the world's premier digital society. Mark and I shared a goal of getting more individuals and companies online and building really creative solutions that would enhance ease to the daily life of every Indian when Jio platforms and Meta announced our cooperation in 2020," stated Mukesh Ambani, Chairman and Managing Director of Reliance Industries.

The JioMart on WhatsApp experience will transform the way millions of companies communicate with their customers throughout the country, while also delivering unrivalled ease and convenience to people's buying experiences.

Customers may begin buying on JioMart by simply sending a ‘Hi’ to the JioMart number (+917977079770) over WhatsApp.
