ICICI Pru Life to appoint Anup Bagchi as MD & CEO

ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Company Limited informed that the company has approved the appointment of Anup Bagchi as the MD & CEO of the Company for a period of five consecutive years. His appointment will be effective from June 19, 2023, or the date of regulatory approval(s), whichever is later.

Currently, Anup is serving as the Executive Director, ICICI Bank and Non-executive Director of the Company.

According to the company's filing with the bourses, N.S. Kannan, who serves as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (MD & CEO), is set to retire from the company after completing his term on June 18, 2023.

Since October 2018, he has served as the Company's Executive Director. He is in charge of Wholesale Banking, Transaction Banking, Markets, and Proprietary Trading. He had extensive experience in retail banking, treasury, investment banking, small-scale industry, and payment and settlement systems.

Bagchi was previously the Managing Director and CEO of ICICI Securities. For seven consecutive years, he led the organization to the prestigious Outlook Money - India's Best e-Brokerage House award. He was in charge of the retail broking, retail financial product distribution, and wealth management businesses' development and growth.

He graduated with honours from the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (Batch 1992), and the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur (Batch 1990).
