Markets in a positive sentiment

Indian benchmark indices are trading with gains in the Friday afternoon session, extending their previous day’s rally driven by a major buyout in Reliance Industries, fresh inflows of foreign funds, and a positive global cue in the global markets.

The US market ended the previous session with gains. While in Asian markets, Seoul and Tokyo traded in positive territory.

On the sectoral front, Nifty IT (+1.42%) and Media (+1.71%) stocks are trading with the most gains. All other sectoral indices are driving the market with noticeable gains.

At around 1.10 PM, BSE Sensex is trading 426 points higher at 62,294. NSE Nifty is trading up by 116 points at 18,437.

Divis’ Lab is the top gainer on the Nifty index today. HCL Tech, Hindalco, Reliance, and UPL are tracking the upside with similar gains.

On the losers’ chart, Grasim Industries is on top. While, ONGC remained in low spirits as well. Bharti Airtel, Power Grid, and Bajaj Auto are trading on a marginal downside.

A total of 43 stocks advanced on the NSE today, driving the market rally. While only 7 stocks namely, Adani Ports, HDFC, Bajaj Auto, Power Grid, Bharti Airtel, ONGC, and Grasim Industries, declined.
