Paytm introduces UPI SDK to let customers pay directly within merchant app

23 May 2023 , 01:39 PM

One97 Communications Limited, the parent company of Paytm, has unveiled the Paytm UPI SDK, an innovative solution enabling customers of online merchants to seamlessly make UPI payments within the merchant's mobile app, eliminating the need for redirection during the checkout process.

According to the company, this new feature will empower customers to make payments directly from their bank accounts within the merchant app, simply by entering their UPI PIN, thereby eliminating the need to exit the app.

Online businesses now have the opportunity to provide their customers with convenient features such as checking their account balance, creating VPA handles, adding additional UPI-linked accounts, and setting/resetting UPI PINs in real-time within their app, all before initiating a payment.

The introduction of the Paytm UPI SDK is an additional feature within the existing UPI acquiring arrangement between Paytm Payments Services Ltd. and Paytm Payments Bank.

As part of this arrangement, Paytm Payments Services Ltd. offers UPI acquisition services to merchants, and the UPI SDK serves as an enhancement to this arrangement.
