Ekagrah Rohan Murty, the four-month-old grandson of Infosys founder N.R. Narayana Murthy, likely become India’s youngest millionaire. Narayana Murthy gifted shares worth over ₹240 Crore to Ekagrah, according to a regulatory filing.
The 77-year-old Infosys founder conducted the off-market transaction to gift shares to his grandson. This reduced Narayana Murthy’s stake in Infosys to 0.36%, equivalent to more than 1.51 Crore shares.
At the market price of ₹1,620 per share on Monday, Ekagrah Murty received shares valued at approximately ₹243 Crore.
Rohan Murty and his wife Aparna Krishnan welcomed their baby boy in November last year, making Narayana Murthy and Sudha Murty grandparents.
Sudha Murty, an engineer, philanthropist, and author, recently took oath as a Rajya Sabha MP, with her husband Narayana Murthy by her side.
