NTPC Green Energy, AP Collaborate on ₹2 Lakh Crore Green Energy Project

NTPC Green Energy and Andhra Pradesh collaborate in developing ₹2 lakh crore renewable energy projects. The partnership includes 25 GW of solar, wind, and hybrid energy, 10 GW of pumped hydro storage, and 0.5 million metric tonnes of green hydrogen annually.
As announced by CM N. Chandrababu Naidu, it is likely to generate 106,000 jobs and bring ₹20,620 crore worth of financial benefits over 25 years.
The Integrate Clean Energy Policy of Andhra Pradesh envisions a target of 78.50 GW of solar, 35 GW of wind, 22 GW of hydro storage, and 1.5 MMTPA of green hydrogen production in five years.
NTPC Green Energy will invest ₹1.85 lakh crore in a green hydrogen hub in Pudimadaka, producing 1,500 tonnes daily, with global partnerships under consideration. The first phase of the joint venture is set for completion by May 2027.
