On Tuesday, May 21, 2024, thirteen stocks have been banned from trading under the futures and options (F&O) segment by the National Stock Exchange (NSE). The ban was implemented because these stocks exceeded 95% of the market-wide position limit (MWPL), as reported by the NSE. Despite the ban in the F&O segment, these stocks are still available for trading in the cash market.

The NSE updates the list of securities in the F&O ban for trade on a daily basis. The derivative contracts of these securities have surpassed 95% of the MWPL, triggering their inclusion in the ban period.
The NSE statement specifies that all clients and members must only trade in these derivative contracts to reduce their positions through offsetting transactions. Any attempt to increase open positions in these securities will result in appropriate penal and disciplinary actions. No new positions are allowed to be initiated for any of the F&O contracts in these stocks during the ban period.
