Bharat Dynamics Limited announced its results on Tuesday and posted a marginal decline in its net profit for the quarter despite logging a robust growth in topline. This was mainly on account of significant pressure on operating margins.
The business said that net profit for the quarter ended March 2025 registered a 5.5% decline on a year-on-year basis to ₹272.70 Crore. In the previous corresponding period, the business posted a net profit of ₹288.80 Crore.
The business said that revenue from operations witnessed a sharp growth of ₹1,777 Crore. In the previous corresponding period, the business logged revenue of ₹854 Crore. This revenue growth was driven by a robust execution cycle in its order book for defence equipment.
However, the business said that EBITDA slipped 5.5% to ₹299 Crore. In the year-ago quarter, it logged an EBITDA of ₹316.30 Crore. The company said that the EBITDA margin witnessed a contraction at 16.83% against 37.04% in the previous comparable period. This reflects increasing input costs and lower operating leverage.
The state-owned manufacturer has witnessed a strong order inflow in recent quarters.
The company’s board has recommended a final dividend of ₹0.65 per share having face value of ₹5. This dividend is subject to approval from shareholders at the ensuing general meeting.
