Hero MotoCorp promotes Sanjay Bhan as Executive VP

2 Sep 2024 , 03:38 PM

Hero MotoCorp announced that the company has promoted Sanjay Bhan, its Chief Business Officer for Global Business, to Executive Vice President, effective September 1.

Bhan’s increased role will include leading the Global Product Planning (GPP) portfolio as well as the newly established Global Market Insights unit, Hero MotoCorp said in a regulatory statement on Friday.

This new department will be our strategic engine, allowing us to predict consumer and market trends, capitalise on opportunities before they arise, and strengthen our position as an industry thought leader, according to CEO Niranjan Gupta.

Bhan will, however, continue to report to the CEO on Global Business and GPP. In addition, he will report directly to the Executive Chairman as the head of the Global Market Insights function, as well as the Sports vertical.

Bhan, a Hero MotoCorp veteran, joined the firm in 1991 and has played a key role in the launch of various two-wheeler models since then, the company said.

Sanjay has led the firm’s expansion into Southeast Asia, Africa, and Latin America, according to HeroMoto, and the company is now preparing to explore new regions in Europe and Brazil.  Sanjay currently serves as Head of Global Business.

At around 2.43 PM, Hero MotoCorp was trading 2.12% higher at ₹5,570.90 per piece, against the previous close of ₹5,455.40 on NSE. The counter touched an intraday high and low of ₹5,629.05, and ₹5,517, respectively.
