Honda establishes new engine assembly line in Haryana

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) opened a new engine assembly line with a capacity of 60 engines per day at its Global Resource Factory in Manesar, Haryana, with an emphasis on CKD (Completely Knocked Down) exports.

According to a news release from the company, the new assembly line is capable of manufacturing engines for a variety of models, spanning from 1100cc to 300cc, to meet the varied demands and preferences of customers worldwide.

"We are pleased to announce the establishment of a new engine assembly line for CKD exports at our Global Resource Factory in Manesar. This reflects our ongoing commitment to pushing technological boundaries within the industry. Through this initiative, HMSI intends to enhance its export capacity, achieving greater market penetration and upholding international quality benchmarks," stated Tsutsumu Otani, Managing Director, President, and CEO of Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India.

HMSI now sells to 58 markets in Europe, Central and Latin America, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, and SAARC countries.

In March, the business recorded an 81% year-on-year increase in domestic wholesales to 3,58,151 units. In March 2023, the company sold 1,97,542 units to dealers. Exports rose 95% to 28,304 units last month from 14,460 in March 2023.

Total sales increased to 3,86,455 units last month, up from 2,12,002 units the previous year, according to the report.
