Mercedes-Benz announced on Wednesday that its car sales in India increased by more than 13% year on year to 14,379 units in the first nine months of 2024, setting a new record for the January-September period.
The company added that the September quarter delivered nearly 21% more cars (5,117 units) than the same period last year.
Mercedes-Benz India reported that battery electric vehicle (BEV) sales increased by 84% from January to April of this year compared to the same period in 2023, more than any other premium brand in the local market.
At the same time, top-end vehicles increased by 18%, the report noted.
“With 14,379 new Mercedes-Benz delivered year-to-date in January-September (+13 per cent) including 5,117 units (+21 per cent) in Q3 ’24 alone; Mercedes-Benz continues to buck the industry trend,” according to a statement from the business.
