Basic materials stocks slide

Among the components of the S&P BSE Basic Materials index, NMDC Ltd (down 5.41%), Mukand Ltd (down 4.24%),Fine Organic Industries Ltd (down 3.31%),Hindalco Industries Ltd (down 2.88%),Gravita India Ltd (down 2.86%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were Kuantum Papers Ltd (down 2.71%), India Pesticides Ltd (down 2.55%), INEOS Styrolution India Ltd (down 2.41%), JK Lakshmi Cement Ltd (down 2.25%), and National Aluminium Company Ltd (down 2.24%). On the other hand, Pokarna Ltd (up 8.12%), Galaxy Surfactants Ltd (up 4.37%), and India Glycols Ltd (up 4.33%) turned up.At 13:47 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 333.31 or 0.61% at 54061.92.The Nifty 50 index was down 109.45 points or 0.67% at 16106.55.The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was down 66.19 points or 0.26% at 25850.22.The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was down 36.85 points or 0.46% at 8029.56.On BSE,1477 shares were trading in green, 1726 were trading in red and 168 were unchanged.Powered by Capital Market – Live News
