Dabur completes its cloud migration, becomes the first Indian FMCG firm to do so

10 Oct 2023 , 10:25 AM

Dabur India announced the successful conclusion of one of the biggest and most complex cloud migrations in the industry. Dabur now holds the distinction of being the first Indian Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) Cloud-Only Enterprise.

With this action, Dabur hopes to improve its commercial resiliency and tighten control over its IT operations. It is anticipated that this transformation would enhance services for customers, partners, workers, and most crucially, merchants. Dabur ensures 360-degree management of all company activities by switching to a cloud-only paradigm, resulting in increased efficiency, transparency, and agility.

‘Dabur will become an Intelligent, Sustainable Enterprise, able to innovate new goods and services faster and offer higher customer experiences, by leveraging the power of the cloud, artificial intelligence, and its solid database. The action is also consistent with Dabur’s objective to reduce carbon emissions and attain Net Zero by 2045, according to Kaustubh Dabral, global chief information officer of Dabur India Limited.

Dabur is now able to gain real-time data insights thanks to the construction of this digital core. The cloud migration took 10 months to complete and was made possible by partnerships with leading companies like SAP and Microsoft. Thoucentric, working for Xoriant, managed Programme Management and Governance, and Accenture served as the implementation partner. Azure has become the most popular cloud computing platform.

“In today’s disruptive consumer goods industry, navigating unpredictable supply chains, managing ongoing macro-economic volatility, and staying one step ahead of ever-changing customer demands are key to success.” Shailendra Kumar Srivastav, head of IT for Dabur International, said.

Dabur has shifted all of its software from its own data centre to cloud services like SAP RISE and Microsoft Azure. The SAP programmes are on RISE, while the non-SAP programmes are on Azure. With this modification, Dabur becomes the first significant consumer products company in India to modernize its digital systems using cutting-edge technology such as Open AI. With the switch to RISE with SAP, Dabur now has access to the full suite of business management tools and cutting-edge techniques for improving outcomes.
