Mindtree opens first development center in Kolkata, stock climbs ~1%

Mindtree Limited, a global digital transformation company, today announced the inauguration of its first development center in Kolkata.

Located in Sector V of Bidhannagar, the 56,000-sq.ft. facility is compliant with LEED standards of environmentally sustainable operations, and has been designed as an agile workplace to enable greater collaboration, innovation and creativity.

From Kolkata, the company is providing digital solutioning, consulting, cloud, core modernization, product engineering, business intelligence, data analytics, CRM platform, and cybersecurity services to some of the world’s largest retail, consumer goods, manufacturing, banking, financial services, insurance, travel, transportation, and hospitality companies in North America, Europe and Asia-Pacific.

He further stated, “The center is the result of our continued investments in cutting-edge talent and infrastructure to meet the robust global demand for our services. Our focus is on leveraging our domain and technology leadership, global client footprint, progressive people practices, and close collaboration with academia to create future-ready talent and fast-paced careers in the city. Despite the pandemic, Mindtree has been recruiting talent in Kolkata for over a year and already employs more than 1,000 professionals in the city. The company is aggressively adding to its team in Kolkata and expects to double its headcount in the city in the next financial year.

Mindtree is currently trading at Rs4,144 up by Rs41.15 or 1% from its previous closing of Rs4,102.85 on the BSE. It touched day’s high and low of Rs4,149 and Rs4,073.55 respectively.
