Sensex and Nifty are in Green on October 9, 2024

The Indian benchmark indices, Sensex and Nifty, are both trading in positive territory today. As of 1:16 PM, the Sensex rose by 242 points, or 0.30%, reaching 81,877. The Nifty increased by 90.85 points, or 0.36%, to 25,089.

On the National Stock Exchange (NSE), 1,936 stocks advanced, while 549 stocks declined.

The top gainers on the Sensex include Tata Motors, Bajaj Finserv, Maruti Suzuki, and Bajaj Finance. In contrast, the biggest losers are Nestle, ITC, HDFC Bank, and Reliance. Notably, Infosys is the only stock that has reached a 52-week high.

On the Nifty, Tata Motors, Trent, Cipla, and Maruti Suzuki are the top performers, while Nestle, ITC, ONGC, and Britannia are the major losers. Both Trent and Infosys have achieved 52-week highs.

In the broader market, the BSE Midcap index is trading with a gain of 1.13%, while the BSE Smallcap index is up by 1.39%, reflecting positive investor sentiment across various sectors.
