Top stocks for today - 25th October 2024

Here are some of the stocks that may see significant price movement today.

ITC: The company posted a net profit of ₹5,078.3 Crore in the second quarter of the fiscal year 2024-25, a 3.1% YoY rise from ₹4,927 Crore in the same quarter last year. ITC’s net profit was slightly above the market poll prediction of ₹5,050 Crore.

Kansai Nerolac: The paint business has sold its land parcel and structure in Lower Parel, Mumbai, for ₹726 Crore. The sale was completed after the appropriate procedural and regulatory approvals. The selling agreement was first disclosed in December 2023, and the land was sold to Aethon Developers Private Ltd, a subsidiary of Runwal Developers Private Ltd.

Coromandel International: For the second quarter ending September 30, 2024, the agro-chemicals firm’s net profit decreased by 12.3% year on year to ₹664 Crore. In the preceding fiscal quarter, Coromandel International reported a net profit of ₹756.9 Crore, according to a regulatory filing. 

Mahanagar Gas: The Indian city gas distributor reported a 16.5% year-on-year fall in net profit for the second quarter of FY25. In the quarter ending September 30, the company’s profit after tax decreased to ₹283 Crore from ₹339 Crore the previous year. The state-backed gas distributor’s revenue increased by 8.6% to 1,877 Crore from 1,728 Crore the previous year, driven by increased sales volumes.

PNB Housing Finance: In the second quarter of FY25, the company’s net profit increased by 23% to ₹470 Crore over the previous year. The increase in earnings was attributable to improved asset quality, with the gross non-performing assets (GNPA) ratio falling to 1.24% from 1.78% a year ago and 1.35% the preceding quarter. 

Petronet LNG: India’s largest petrol importer recorded a 4% YoY increase in net profit to ₹848 Crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2024. In the preceding fiscal quarter, Petronet LNG reported a net profit of ₹818 Crore, according to a regulatory filing. 

Cyient DLM: The technology services corporation reported financial results for the second quarter ending September 30, 2024, with a 2% year-on-year increase in net profit. In constant currency, the group’s revenue for the quarter was ₹1,826.1 Crore, representing a 2.6% increase over the previous year. 

Glenmark Life sciences: The company’s net profit during the second quarter of fiscal year 2025 fell 20% year-on-year to ₹95.32 Crore, due to the temporary closure of its Gujarat manufacturing unit. The Mumbai-based company’s income from operations decreased by roughly 15% to ₹507 Crore in the three months ended September 30.
