Swiggy, soon to launch its IPO, has introduced a new service called Bolt offering 10-minute food delivery. This service will cater to customers within a 2 km radius, delivering quick-to-prepare meals from popular restaurants and QSRs.
The menu will include items like burgers, hot and cold beverages, breakfast options, biryani, ice cream, sweets, and snacks, which require minimal preparation time.
Bolt will feature food from major brands like KFC, McDonald’s, Burger King, Baskin Robbins, Starbucks, Chaayos, and EatFit.
Local favorites from cities like Karachi Bakery (Hyderabad), MM Mithaiwala (Mumbai), Anand Sweets (Bangalore), and Sethi Ice-cream (Delhi) will also be available.
Swiggy emphasizes that the service maintains food quality, freshness, and taste despite fast delivery times.
Bolt is currently operational in six cities: Hyderabad, Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, Chennai, and Bangalore, with plans for expansion. Delivery partners are not made aware of the distinction between Bolt and regular orders, ensuring no incentives or penalties based on speed.
Rohit Kapoor, CEO of Swiggy’s Food Marketplace, stated that Bolt builds on Swiggy’s original mission of reducing food delivery wait times.
The launch follows Zomato’s unsuccessful attempt at 10-minute delivery, which was scrapped after a year of trials in select cities.
