The Adani group announced its entry into the industrial 5G market after winning 400 MHz of spectrum in the Monday-ending 5G airwaves auction.
The Adani group announced on Tuesday that it would digitally integrate its businesses, connect its data centres, create the largest industrial cloud operation in the world, and create a super app to provide a range of services to its 400 million customers.
The Adani group announced its entry into the industrial 5G market after winning 400 MHz of spectrum in the Monday-ending 5G airwaves auction. The group purchased millimetre wave (26 GHz) band spectrum for Rs212 crore.
The recently acquired 5G spectrum is anticipated to contribute to the development of a cohesive digital platform, accelerating the pace and scope of the Adani Group’s digitalization of its core infrastructure, core business, and B2C business portfolio.
According to the report, the rate of return on assets will materially improve over the long run as digital enablement picks up speed. The group’s first step in integrating its digital infrastructure portfolio, which also includes data centres, terrestrial fibre and submarine cables, industrial cloud, AI innovation laboratories, cybersecurity, and superapps, was to acquire 400MHz of spectrum, it continued.
Gautam Adani said in a statement, “The Adani Group’s entry into the industrial 5G market will enable our portfolio firms to provide a set of new ancillary services that capitalise on all the other digital categories we are developing. As more and more gadgets become connected, we anticipate that machines rather than people will be more responsible for the next data boom. Other machines will need to stream, store, process, and analyse this data in real time, which will revolutionise every business. It will contribute to the development of a set of services that the market today is unable to even fully imagine. In a nation like India, where Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities are experiencing the highest overall growth, this volume will be exponentially bigger and generated at the fringes.”
