Foreign and Domestic Institutional Investors Drive Indian Stocks with Strong Buying

Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) and domestic institutional investors (DIIs) exhibited robust buying activity in Indian stocks on Wednesday, with FIIs investing over Rs 4,000 crore and DIIs contributing more than Rs 550 crore.

The Sensex, the benchmark index, reached a new lifetime high, while the Nifty 50 approached its record level. However, the upward movement was limited due to global trends and delayed monsoons.

According to data from the National Stock Exchange (NSE), FIIs recorded an inflow of Rs 4,013.10 crore, with buying value at Rs 13,795.52 crore and selling value at Rs 9,782.42 crore.

DIIs made equity purchases worth Rs 7,704.86 crore and sold equities worth Rs 7,154.50 crore, resulting in a net inflow of Rs 550.36 crore.

The Sensex closed at 63,523.15, rising by 195.45 points or 0.31%, while the Nifty 50 settled at 18,856.85, increasing by 40.15 points or 0.21%. During the day, the Sensex touched a new historic high of 63,588.31, and the Nifty 50 reached a new lifetime high of 18,875.90.

In the previous trading session, FIIs were net sellers, experiencing an outflow of Rs 1,942.62 crore, while DIIs were net buyers, witnessing an inflow of Rs 1,972.51 crore.
