Murf AI raises $10 million in funding

The $10 million round of funding for the speech technology startup Murf AI was headed by Matrix Partners India.

Ajay Arora, senior vice president of product at Disney Streaming, Ankit Bhati, the creator of Ola, and Ashwini Asokan, the cofounder of Mad Street Den, among others, participated as well as Elevation Capital, an existing investor.

The business will use the capital to expand its footprint in targeted geographies, speed up research and development, and promote additional product innovation.

Sneha Roy, Ankur Edkie, and Divyanshu Pandey, fellow IIT-Kharagpur graduates, founded Murf in October 2020. Murf offers an artificial intelligence (AI)-enabled software tool that enables users to create human-like voiceovers for videos and presentations without the use of expensive recording equipment or paying a voice actor.
