Under the Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam’s e-Reverse auction, state-owned SJVN won a 100 MW solar project for Rs 550 crore. According to a business release, this ground-mounted solar project would be constructed by SJVN through its wholly-owned subsidiary, SJVN Green Energy Ltd (SGEL), at a preliminary cost of Rs 550 crore.
According to the release, SJVN won the stated capacity of a 100 MW Solar Project at Rs 2.63/Unit on a Build Own and Operate basis through GUVNL’s tariff-based competitive bidding procedure.
The project is planned to be completed within 18 months after the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) signing. The PPA will be signed for a period of 25 years by SGEL and GUVNL.
The project is planned to generate around 252 million units in its first year of operation, with a total energy output of approximately 5,866 million units during a 25-year timeframe.
Furthermore, this solar project is expected to eliminate 2,87,434 tonnes of carbon emissions, according to the statement.
With the inclusion of this project, SJVN’s solar and wind portfolio now totals 5,090.5 MW, of which 179.5 MW is operational, 1,860 MW is under construction, and 3,051 MW is in different phases of development.
